As the year draws to a close...

Posted by aviewaskewed - December 26th, 2008

I hope everyone had a merry christmas, happy hannukah, crazy kwanzaa, or whatever it is you celebrate. I also hope you've got some great plans for ringing in the New Year.

08 was a pretty good year all in all over here I think. I gota gig doing semi-regular columns at WIPop.com, I think I've rediscovered some the passion for working on my own site at www.theendlesscrew.com (we actually got a plug over in LITG at comicbookresources for running christmas day material, so let's see how that works for us in terms of hits and readership).

I got to tour Yankee Stadium before it closed, and have a great team in a brand new stadium to look forward to next year. My dad and I are already talking about hitting the pre-season exhibition game with the Cubs.

Plus joined a bowling league and you know? It's a good team and I'd like to see what we might be able to do if we got to start in a league and stay consistent with it the whole season instead of just halfway through.

So I hope your year was good too, I hope your new year will be great, and hopefully we'll all be able to enjoy each other's company for another 365. Or you know, we'll just have some laughs at each other's expense, whatever works.

Aw fuck, spelled it wrong, PWIPop.com. Also look for that stuff to start being archived over at theendlesscrew.com starting next week roughly. Least the comics one's anyway. Also check out the forums and such. Why the hell are my blogs so plug heavy lately anyway? What a self serving prick...

I did, thanks, Merry Christmas to you too!

Thank you!

happy holidays and a happy new year to you as well!

Thank you!

You can plug me. heh

wait....

Too late. Invitation received :)

I was TOTALLY paying attention.......then Seven said something about sex and now i forgot what i was going to say

it was going to be profound as well

I know, she really doesn't understand how much great wisdom she holds back by mentioning sex like she does :)

Glad to here you had a good year with the economy being shit and all of this violence around the world.

I actually respected the Yankees for not spending so much cash on players and keeping their farm players. Now they're back to their old ways and I hate them for it. Mostly being from Cleveland we never had a huge payroll. Hope you have fun at the mew park, the only original part of the old Yankee stadium were a couple of pillars because of the renovation they had back in the day when the Yanks had to play at Shea Stadium. I just realized the Mets are getting a new stadium too. Taxes must suck ass there, luckily you live in Jersey.

Well I hope you have as good of 2009 if not better than 2008.

I think they'll actually mostly be paying for this via insane ticket prices at the new stadiums. Which I think was probably a big reason the Yanks spent so huge in the off-season here (the pitching they needed, the bat? Hey, useful as a shit, but Manny could also have been done as a cheaper shorter option) is to drive up them inflated ticket price sales and merchandising and shiz. I'm also so tired of people bitching about their spending. If other teams were in such a lucrative market, and could do what the Yankees have done in terms of winning titles and spending big bucks, they absolutely would. It especially makes me angry when teams like the Brewers start screaming about salary caps and yadda. Small market is small market boys, and honestly? It's not like the big bucks buying sprees have been netting the Yanks any world titles of late, but it is neat to see so many stars in one place. They fuck up this year though and I will riot. Also though, you wanna talk about the old stadium not having that same history since the redo, if your feet had touched that warning track soil like mine did, I guarantee you it wouldn't matter. Or standing in the same locker room as today's greats, and seeing the locker of the late Catfish Hunter (yep, they preserved it)...it just made me proud to be a fan of that organization.

well my legs are really itchy

Do you hate mankind?
